Photographer Jon Shaft was on hand to document Those Darlins‘ recent show at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. Openers Turbo Fruits and Velcro Lewis kicked things off before the Darlins took the stage with its raucous brand of country-punk pop.

Concert Photos: Garage a Trois @ Double Door
Groove/jam-rock quartet Garage a Trois is an all-star cast of players, featuring saxophonist Skerik and vibraphonist Mike Dillon (each of Critters Buggin and Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade), drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic, Corrosion of Conformity), and keyboardist Marco Benevento (Benevento/Russo Duo).
The group can rip off wailing solos when warranted, but it brings some seriously hard-hitting riffs that translate to major live energy. Photographer Jon Shaft captured some shots from the group’s recent stop in Chicago, track suits and all.

Concert Photos: Ratatat @ the Riviera
Photographer Jon Shaft covered Ratatat‘s recent show at the Riviera in Chicago. Touring in support of their latest album, LP4, Ratatat’s Evan Mast and Mike Stroud worked the crowd with electrifying light and video displays. And though the band isn’t big on words, by using nostalgia-heavy clips from sources like Predator and Paul Simon, Ratatat managed to speak volumes.
