The title of his new album, 20 Odd Years, is a good indication of Buck 65‘s longevity in the music industry. The Canadian hip-hop artist (real name: Richard Terfry) has made a long career out of experimental production and unconventional rhymes, recently incorporating elements of folk, blues, and electronica into his signature avant-garde sound.

On “Bone of Contention,” a digital-only bonus cut from 20 Odd Years, Buck’s gravelly delivery is as deft as ever, navigating a climbing bass line and circular guitar line. The track sports a radio-ready hook, compliments of Coral Osborne, daughter of 54-40‘s Neil Osborne.

If you’re in Austin for SXSW, check out one of Buck’s three scheduled performances. Details here.
