Post-metal powerhouse Russian Circles performs “309” for in-studio video series (pt. 1)

In the first of a three-part in-studio series, Chicago post-metal triad Russian Circles displays its explosive live chops and knack for dynamics.

Russian Circles: Empros (Sargent House, 10/25/11)

Last fall, Chicago “instru-metal” powerhouse Russian Circles dropped Empros, another weighty post-metal beast and second album with bassist Brian Cook. Now, in advance of a new batch of tour dates, the trio has an in-studio video series to demonstrate its prowess at the live performance.

The live footage, recorded and shot at Entourage Studios in North Hollywood, features the band “in the raw” for nearly nine minutes, on a ride of roaring riffs and suspenseful lulls. Keep your eyes peeled for parts two and three of the series from Sargent House and Terroreyes.TV.
