Horror and metal icons collide in The Profane Exhibit film anthology

When the Housecore Horror Film Festival was announced in February, it was assumed that any festival put on by Pantera / Down’s Phil Anselmo and combining the twin brutalities of metal and horror would result in some top-notch depravity in Austin from October 25-27. Well, an exclusive US premiere has been announced, and it sounds pretty twisted.

Titled The Profane Exhibit and assembled by producers David Bond and Manda Manuel, the film is an anthology of blood and terror. Book-ended with a story involving some rather evil one-percenters telling one another depraved stories in the basement of a very special Parisian club, The Profane Exhibit’s segments feature directors and musicians including Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust), Sergio Stivaletti (Cemetery Man), Maurizio Guarini (Goblin), José Mojica Majins (Coffin Joe films), Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police), and Richard Stanley (Hardware).

Head over to the fest’s official website for the full credits, and don’t forget to grab yourself some tickets.
