Touring ghost towns: Watch the trailer for Spindrift’s Ghost of the West

Spindrift: Ghost of the WestSpindrift: Ghost of the West (2013)

Western cinematic-psychedelia group Spindrift just finished up a tour and has an album and film coming out in support of it. Great, you say, how is this different from any number of other bands doing similar things?

Well, Spindrift toured ghost towns.

Its 2012 Ghost Town Tour hit the big ones, with stops at the OK Corral, Deadwood, and the Nye County Courthouse of Belmont, NV, where Charles Manson’s cult once carved their names. The band played in saloons, clubs, and outdoors, with the long-dead settlements being a perfect fit for the eerie brand of haunting Western rock.

The band has premiered a trailer for the film, directed by Burke Roberts, and both film and record will hit stores later this summer.
