Video Premiere: Silver Snakes’ “Grey Wolf Wild”

Silver Snakes: Year of the SnakeSilver Snakes: Year of the Snake (Bridge Nine, 3/4/14)

Playing a heavy, emotionally charged blend of indie rock and post-hardcore, Silver Snakes made its anticipated full-length debut on Bridge Nine back in March. Now the band is premiering its video for “Grey Wolf Wild,” a song with the unusual inspiration of when guitarist/vocalist Alex Estrada met a wolf at the Wolf Mountain sanctuary in Lucerne Valley, California.

The video, directed by Moses Venegas, doesn’t actually feature a canis lupis, but instead is a simple live performance, drenched in saturated colors. “The room is the stage; the lights are the thoughts,” Estrada says. “We just do what we do.”
