Cavity Re-releases Laid Insignificant

cavity2.jpgCavity will re-release the sludge metal classic Laid Insignificant on March 18, on Hydra Records with remastered audio and added tracks from the original sessions. Laid Insignificant has been called the most hostile of Cavity’s records, though they are known for their generally virile, uninhabitable sound.

British graffiti artist Nick Walker has first show in US

nickwalker2.jpgBristol graffiti artist and painter Nick Walker, aka the Apish Angel, is having his first U.S. Solo Exhibition at Carmichael Gallery in Hollywood, CA February 2-24. Walker fuses stencil graffiti and painting, and traditional print mediums with spray-painted stencils.

Neurosis joins Mastodon on stage for two shows this month

mastodon.jpgMastodon will be taking the stage for two shows in Brooklyn this month with post-metal inspiration Neurosis. U.S. Christmas, a band on Neurosis’ Neurot Recording label, will also perform. Mastodon recently finished up opening for Slayer in Australia.

Devotchka European tour dates announced

New Avett Brothers Video Documentary

The Avett Brothers have taken portions of a documentary the trio are working on and set it to their song “Paranoia in Bb Major.” The video is a collection of behind-the-scenes and concert footage. The brothers are currently taking a tiny break from touring but will hit the road again in February.

Johnny Cash Tribute at Folsom Prison Canceled

cash3.jpgA Johnny Cash tribute concert to be held in the Folsom State Prison canteen has been canceled 48 hours after it was first announced. The concert would have coincided with the 40th anniversary of Cash’s legendary recording at the prison.

The Raveonettes Set North American Tour

raveonettes.jpgDanish noise-pop duo The Raveonettes has announced tour dates to support its first Vice records release, Lust Lust Lust. Before the tour begins in March, the group will play scattered European dates and a show at New York’s Terminal 5 on January 19 with Blonde Redhead.
