Mastodon will be taking the stage for two shows in Brooklyn this month with post-metal inspiration Neurosis. U.S. Christmas, a band on Neurosis’ Neurot Recording label, will also perform. Mastodon recently finished up opening for Slayer in Australia.
Devotchka European tour dates announced
Denver Gypsy Punk band, Devotchka, has announced a European tour to support their new album A Mad and Faithful Telling, which will be released March 18 on Anti-. Fans can expect a lot of new material at the 2/14 Boulder show.
New Avett Brothers Video Documentary
The Avett Brothers have taken portions of a documentary the trio are working on and set it to their song “Paranoia in Bb Major.” The video is a collection of behind-the-scenes and concert footage. The brothers are currently taking a tiny break from touring but will hit the road again in February.
Johnny Cash Tribute at Folsom Prison Canceled
A Johnny Cash tribute concert to be held in the Folsom State Prison canteen has been canceled 48 hours after it was first announced. The concert would have coincided with the 40th anniversary of Cash’s legendary recording at the prison.
The Raveonettes Set North American Tour
Danish noise-pop duo The Raveonettes has announced tour dates to support its first Vice records release, Lust Lust Lust. Before the tour begins in March, the group will play scattered European dates and a show at New York’s Terminal 5 on January 19 with Blonde Redhead.
