The Drift: Streets/Nozami

This two-song, instrumental 12” EP features members of San Francisco’s Tarentel and is every bit as fulfilling as you can imagine it might be with that sort of association.

The two tracks are epically dark journeys through sound that one might expect from the likes of Tarentel, although The Drift tend to get to the point a bit quicker. There is a strong June of ‘44 presence in the rhythm and the use of horns in this recording, and it is really nice to hear that influence come around again.

Much like TarentelThe Drift‘s music perfectly encapsulates the moody, fog-ridden atmosphere of San Francisco. This LP is limited to 1,000 copies, so fans of the genre need to get a move on.
