What We’re Seeing This Weekend: Don Caballero, Yoome, These Arms are Snakes

As we hit town this weekend to catch a pair of hard-hitting rock bands (Don Caballero and These Arms are Snakes), we’ll also venture to see a left-field production of hip hop and synth-flavored post-rock (Yoome), boundless pseudo-soundtrack work (Andreas Kapsalis Trio), and a blend of dub, reggae, electronics, and rock (The Eternals).

One of the greatest crowd-pleasing pieces of music in burlesque is “Night Train.” I’ve had people who’ve just attended their first burlesque show come up to me after a show and say, “I’ve always wanted to see someone dance to that song live! Thank you!”

Woodhands is a synthesized electro-rock duo, but unlike many of its contemporaries, the members actually play instruments onstage instead of hiding behind laptops. Its recent album, Heart Attack, is cold and inviting, sexy and nerdy, and the assured arrival of a new player on the electro-pop scene.
